About
Armont Cyber Security, LLC is an independent advisory practice founded and run by James Armont — SASE and security-architecture advisory to enterprise end-users. The model is simple: one experienced advisor, directly accountable, with no vendor allegiance.
James advises CISOs and infrastructure leaders on SASE/SSE/ZTNA architecture selection, vendor evaluation, and phased deployment, with engagements spanning financial, professional, and industrial verticals — including a seven-figure enterprise engagement closed and expanded as a solo operator, from first conversation through delivery oversight. He also advises early-stage cyber founders on ICP, go-to-market motion, and first sales hires.
Before founding the practice, James was a founding North American team member at Cato Networks — the SASE pioneer, now a $4.8B-valued category leader — where he built the US enterprise motion through three product pivots and ranked top-3 globally in revenue five straight fiscal years, including #1 globally in FY18. At XM Cyber, he led enterprise sales across the US West and LATAM as ARR scaled from $17M to $30M in twelve months, ahead of the company's $700M acquisition by Schwarz Group.
And when he isn't advising, he's building. Armont Aegis, the macOS network-defense tool above, is designed, written, and shipped first-party — kernel-level Swift and pf, mapping every SASE/SWG agent, MDM hook, and TLS-inspection CA trusted on a host. Architecture-level fluency in the exact stack he advises on.
